Important Parking Updates: Vashon Center Parking

As Harris-Stowe State University continues exciting campus improvements, some parking areas near the ceremony location are temporarily limited during Commencement activities.

Guests parking in the Vashon Center Parking Lot should follow the recommended pedestrian route along North Compton Avenue to Laclede Avenue to access the front entrance of the Dr. Henry Givens Jr. Administration Building. The walk is approximately 7–10 minutes along a sidewalk-accessible route.

Guests needing mobility assistance may be dropped off at the roundabout located in front of the Administration Building before vehicles proceed to parking.

Driving Directions

  • From I-64/Highway 40 (Eastbound & Westbound)

    Take the Grand Blvd. exit

    Turn south onto Grand Blvd.

    Turn left onto Laclede Avenue

    The HSSU campus will be on your right

  • From I-44

    Exit onto Grand Blvd.

    Head north on Grand Blvd.

    Turn right onto Laclede Avenue to enter campus

  • From I-70

    Merge onto I-44 West

    Exit at Grand Blvd.

    Turn north onto Grand Blvd.

    Turn right onto Laclede Avenue

  • Parking

    Parking will be available in the HGA Parking Lots, Vashon Center Parking Lot, and Upper Emerson Parking Lot.

    Please note:

    The Lower Emerson Parking Lot is closed due to construction

    VIP Parking will be located in the Faculty & Staff Parking Lot adjacent to the Administration Building
